Lahore (HRNW)- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced strict action against those who steal, buy and sell sewer covers and said that such elements will be punished with imprisonment and fine.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said that a new law is being introduced in the province under which those involved in stealing, buying or selling sewer covers can be punished with imprisonment for one to ten years. She said that this step is very important for the protection of the lives and property of the citizens.
Maryam Nawaz further said that if a citizen’s life is lost due to an open sewer cover, a fine of lakhs of rupees will also be imposed on those responsible. She said that no concession will be made to those who play with human lives.
The Punjab Chief Minister clarified that the government will take all possible steps to ensure the safety of the people and the law will be strictly enforced to eliminate such crimes.
