Karachi (HRNW): One of the biggest robbery incidents of the year has been reported in Karachi’s upscale Bahadurabad area, where armed assailants looted a citizen carrying gold and foreign currency withdrawn from a bank, spreading fear and panic in the locality.
According to police sources, the victim had withdrawn 200 tolas of gold and USD 100,000 from a bank. The suspects reportedly followed him from Shahrah-e-Faisal and struck upon reaching Bahadurabad. Four armed men riding motorcycles intercepted the victim, held him at gunpoint, and made off with the gold and US dollars before fleeing the scene.
Police said the total value of the looted gold and foreign currency exceeds Rs 130 million, making it one of the largest robbery cases in recent years.
Following the incident, police collected evidence from the crime scene and obtained CCTV footage from surrounding areas. However, no arrests have been made so far.
According to police officials, an FIR has been registered, raids are being conducted in various areas to apprehend the suspects, and further investigation is underway.
