Madras High Court Orders Final Report in Alleged Custodial Death

Madurai, India (HRNW) — The Madras High Court has given investigative authorities two months to file a conclusive report on the custodial death of a Scheduled Caste man, where police torture — not an accidental fall — is alleged. The court has also been urged to consider charges under anti-atrocity laws and ensure justice for the deceased’s family.
