Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Imran Martyred in Armed Attack in Dera Ismail Khan

Dera Ismail Khan (HRNW)- A Pakistan Army officer, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Imran, was martyred when unidentified gunmen opened fire on his vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday.

According to police, the tragic incident took place on Bannu Road in the Karamatabad area. Lieutenant Colonel Imran, who was posted in Quetta, had returned to his hometown on leave when unknown assailants ambushed his vehicle with indiscriminate gunfire.

As a result, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Imran embraced martyrdom on the spot, while two other individuals sustained injuries. Police officials said that after receiving the report, a contingent immediately reached the scene and shifted the body and injured to a nearby hospital, where the wounded are receiving medical treatment.

Authorities have collected evidence from the crime scene and launched an investigation, though no further details regarding the attackers or the motive have been disclosed so far.

The martyrdom of Lieutenant Colonel Imran has cast a shadow of grief over the region, with strong condemnation pouring in from both civil and military circles.
