Ankara (HRNW)– Libyan Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dabiba has confirmed that several senior military officials, including Libyan Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad, were killed in a plane crash near the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Prime Minister Dabiba shared the news on the social media platform X, expressing deep sadness and shock. He confirmed that Army Chief Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad and members of his delegation lost their lives in the crash. The deceased include the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, the head of the Military Manufacturing Authority, an advisor to the Army Chief, and a photographer from the military media office.

According to the Prime Minister, the crash occurred on the delegationâs return from an official visit to Turkey, though further details of the incident have not been released. He described the crash as a significant loss for Libya and its armed forces, noting that the country lost individuals who served with sincerity, discipline, and national spirit. He also extended condolences to the families of the deceased, military colleagues, and the people of Libya.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed that the private plane bound for Libya crashed in the Haymana district of Ankara and that its wreckage has been recovered.
