Karachi (HRNW) – The new members of the Local Bodies Reporters Association (LIBRA) were welcomed in the general body meeting, while important decisions were taken for the welfare of journalists.
The meeting was chaired by Patron-in-Chief Shahzad Chughtai. It was decided in the meeting that health card facility will be provided to LIBRA members. In this regard, the Patron-in-Chief directed General Secretary Imran Ali Shah to form a special team and start practical work on health insurance of members.
President Tanveer Syed said that the new members who have submitted the membership form along with the fee will be issued membership cards in the upcoming ceremony.
Chairman Nadeem Siddiqui, while welcoming the new members, said that due to the unity and cooperation of the members, progress will be made in resolving the problems of local government journalists soon.
The meeting prayed for the recovery of the daughter of Joint Secretary Rana Rehan and the innocent daughter of LIBRA member Farhan Khan, while the brother-in-law of Information Secretary Mehboob Chishti A Fateha was offered on the death. Prayers were offered by senior journalist and Libra member Arif Hashmi.
The meeting was attended by senior journalist Shahzad Chughtai, Chairman Nadeem Siddiqui, President Tanveer Syed, General Secretary Imran Ali Shah, and several members including Arif Hashmi, Muhammad Nasir, Khurshid Ali, Adnan Ghauri, Salimullah, Hamid Hassan, Samira Khan, Zahid Baig, Syed Zaid, Akram Swati, Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, Adeel Ahmed, Rafaqat Ali, Amjad Iqbal, Rizwan Jalali, Waqar Chauhan, Shakeel Ahmed and Aslam Khan.
