Karachi (HRNW)– In the elections of the University of Karachi Employees Welfare Association for the term 2025–2027, the Peoples United Employees secured a sweeping victory by winning all positions including seats of the executive council, with a heavy majority.
A total of 1594 votes were cast out of a total of 1877 votes and the elections were held at the Faculty of Islamic Studies building on Wednesday.

According to the final results announced by Chief Election Officer Shamim A. Rauf, Zahid Hussain was elected President after securing 623 votes. Two seats of Vice Presidents were bagged by Tariq Abbas and Muhammad Arshad, both securing 619 votes each.
As per result, Wajid Malik was elected General Secretary with 623 votes, for two seats of Joint Secretaries, Iqbal Khan received 624 votes and Bushra Raza got 621 votes. Deedar Hussain was elected as Finance Secretary (Treasurer) with 617 votes. Shafi Muhammad was elected for Secretary Information and Publication with 624 votes.
For the executive council positions, Muhammad Safder got 619 votes, both Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Munsif Khan received 618 votes, Syed Muhammad Yousuf had 616 votes, Miraj Uddin and Shams Uddin Gabol got 615 votes each, Irfan Masih received 611 votes, Muhammad Anis had 611 votes, and Zohaib Maqsood got 609 votes.
For the KU Employees Welfare Association Elections 2025-2027, four groups including Mulazimeen Ittehad, Insaf Pasand, Peoples United Employees, and Neutral Employees Group contested the elections.
Meanwhile, the KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi congratulated the newly elected President of the winning group and other office bearers, and also extended his best wishes to them.
