Peshawar, Pakistan (HRNW)- Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, has directed that all speeches at university events should be delivered in Urdu, the national language of Pakistan.
The CM expressed displeasure over a recent university function where the Vice Chancellor gave a speech in English, stating that such practices are unacceptable. He emphasized that all universities in the province have been instructed to prioritize Urdu during official and academic events.
Sohail Afridi warned that this directive is being repeated for a second time and that strict action will be taken if it is not followed. He added that promoting Urdu will enhance uniformity in the academic environment and improve communication and understanding among students and faculty members.
