Karachi (HRNW) — The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) / CIA Karachi conducted two separate encounters with extortionists, resulting in armed exchanges, according to the spokesperson.
In the second encounter, extortionist Irfan alias Elfi was arrested in injured condition. Police recovered Rs. 100,000 in cash and a weapon from his possession.
The shootout occurred in the Brigade Police Station jurisdiction, while another extortionist managed to escape after opening fire on SIU personnel.
Earlier, the first encounter took place in the Kalakot Police Station area, where SIU apprehended suspect Abdullah in injured condition after an exchange of fire.
The injured suspects have been shifted to a hospital for medical treatment, and further legal proceedings are underway, the spokesperson added.
