Karachi (HRNW): Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Munim Zafar, stated that five days have passed since the Gul Plaza incident, and so far 61 bodies have been recovered. He said the tragedy exposes Bilawal Bhutto’s Sindh Vision, under which Karachi has turned into a ruin.
Speaking at a press conference, he criticized KMC and provincial government institutions, saying they have become a symbol of failure, as even in broad daylight, bodies could not be recovered efficiently.
He highlighted the city’s inadequate firefighting resources, stating that Karachi has only 60 fire tenders and 5 snorkels, while fire-protected uniforms and modern equipment are virtually nonexistent.
Munim Zafar also questioned why, despite repeated fires at R.J. Mall, Saddar, and other locations, buildings still lack firefighting systems, and demanded to know where the Sindh Building Control Authority is.
