Japanese PM Sanae Takaichi Stakes Political Future as New Elections Begin

Tokyo (HRNW)- Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has announced that the people must now decide whether she should continue as prime minister, following the dissolution of the assembly and the start of new elections on February 8.

PM Takaichi emphasized that gaining a majority is crucial to implement economic reforms, defense policy changes, and stricter immigration laws. She has formed an alliance with the right-wing Japan Innovation Party, while her former ally Komeito has joined the opposition in the “Centrist Reform Alliance.”
