Islamabad (HRNW) – The National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) has released its performance report for the year 2025, highlighting significant achievements in road safety, public assistance, and law enforcement.
According to the report:
- Over 18,000 travelers received emergency and timely medical assistance.
- More than 5.4 million people were provided guidance through the toll-free helpline 130.
- 18,500 driving licenses, 103 CE category licenses, and 1,480 international driving permits were issued.
- 2,674 road safety programs were conducted to raise public awareness about safe driving.
- Lost valuable items during travel, including gold jewelry, 186 mobile phones, 48 wallets, and 331 other valuables, were recovered and returned to their owners.
- 48 stolen vehicles and 17 non-custom paid vehicles were recovered and handed over to the relevant authorities and owners.
- 169 missing children were safely returned to their homes.
- 70 dangerous criminals were apprehended and handed over to district police for further action.
- Confiscated items included 29 illegal weapons, 1,349 rounds of ammunition, 309 kilograms of narcotics, 2,450 liters of liquor, and over 10,000 cartons of non-custom paid cigarettes, which were handed over to the respective law enforcement agencies.
- 7 smuggling operations and 6 robbery attempts were successfully foiled.
- Over 13.2 million challans were issued for traffic violations.
- During campaigns against major traffic violations and over-speeding, more than 11,000 FIRs were registered against drivers.
- 690 traffic accidents were reported, including 349 fatal and 341 non-fatal incidents.
The NHMP’s social media team and FM 95 radio continuously update citizens on road safety and traffic conditions. Monthly open courts are also held to directly address public concerns and complaints.
The report emphasizes that the Motorway Police is committed not only to universal law enforcement but also to high standards of public service, ensuring safe and dignified travel for all citizens. Maintaining secure, efficient, and courteous road travel remains the highest priority of the NHMP, with personnel actively working day and night to achieve this goal.
