Karachi (HRNW)– Aafia Movement Pakistan spokesperson Muhammad Ayub has said that the important hearing of petition number WP-3139/2015 filed in the Islamabad High Court regarding the health, release and repatriation of the nation’s daughter Dr. Aafia will be held on December 3. The hearing will be held by a four-member larger bench headed by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro, Justice Muhammad Azam Khan and Justice Inam Amin Minhas.

Dr. Fawzia Siddiqui, who is currently on a visit to Malaysia as part of the global struggle for Dr. Aafia’s release, will participate in the hearing online along with Dr. Aafia’s American lawyers. It should be noted that in the hearing to be held on November 20, the Additional Attorney General had requested the court to give him some time to seek instructions from the Government of Pakistan.

Spokesperson Muhammad Ayub said that the draft Amicus Brief was prepared in consultation with the Ministry of Law and Justice and the Attorney General of Pakistan, so what is the obstacle in signing it?
He said that we want Dr. Aafia’s release from the US prison to be with the help and mediation of the Pakistani government so that this painful matter is resolved amicably and no one faces an unpleasant situation and the chapter of this painful case is closed forever.
With the release of Dr. Aafia, an innocent Pakistani mother will be released from unjust imprisonment and the compassion of a suffering and sobbing mother will also be satisfied by meeting her children.
