Islamabad (HRNW)- An Islamabad court has ordered the arrest and production of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for his continuous absence in a defamation case.
Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah heard the case related to alleged misleading allegations against state institutions and damage to their reputation. During the hearing, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Sohail Afridi.
The court ordered that Sohail Afridi be arrested and produced in court, while further hearing of the case has been adjourned till January 17.
The court verdict said that repeated absence is tantamount to violation of court orders, which cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.
