Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has confirmed the increase in violence in the country over the weekend, saying that terrorists targeted protesters and security forces, but the situation is now completely under control.
He said that Iranian security forces showed maximum restraint during the protests, the protesters’ demands were legitimate and the government was listening to them.
Abbas Araqchi alleged that the protests turned bloody after former US President Donald Trump spoke of possible intervention in order to create a pretext for intervention. The Foreign Minister added that Iran is ready for both war and negotiations, and the country’s peace and stability will be ensured at all costs.
