Tehran (HRNW)- Iran, Russia, and China have announced joint naval exercises in the northern Indian Ocean, scheduled to take place later this month. The drills, named ‘Maritime Security Belt’, will involve the Iranian Navy, the naval units of the Revolutionary Guards, and the navies of China and Russia.
According to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency, the purpose of the exercises is to strengthen maritime security, prepare for potential threats or attacks, and enhance military cooperation among the three nations. Analysts say these drills signal closer strategic coordination in the region amid rising geopolitical tensions.
