Mumbai (HRNW)– A bomb threat on an IndiGo flight traveling from Kuwait to Hyderabad caused panic and forced an emergency landing at Mumbai Airport.

According to Indian media, the flight received an alarming email claiming a bomb blast on board. Authorities issued a red alert, evacuated the runway, and directed the plane to a secluded area for safety.
Security personnel conducted a thorough search of the aircraft and all passengers, but no explosives or contraband were found. The flight was allowed to continue after a three-hour delay.
Officials noted that in the past 11 months, 999 false bomb threat calls have been reported at Indian airlines and airports. Last year, India’s Civil Aviation Security Department proposed a five-year air ban for individuals making such false threats, but incidents continue to occur.
