IndiGo Bomb Threats Expose India’s Aviation Safety and Financial Crisis

Delhi/Pune (HRNW)- Air safety and the financial stability of India’s national airlines are under scrutiny as an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Pune received a bomb threat for the second time in just five days. The plane was immediately moved to an isolation bay after air traffic control was alerted. Earlier this week, another IndiGo flight faced a similar threat and was diverted to Lucknow.

Experts warn that repeated threats on the same routes expose weaknesses in India’s air safety system. Meanwhile, financial reports reveal a severe crisis at Air India, which has faced record losses of over $1.6 billion this year following the fatal Dreamliner crash in June that killed more than 240 people. Additional losses have been incurred due to airspace closures by Pakistan, forcing Indian airlines to take longer, costlier routes to Europe and the US.

Business intelligence platform Toffler reported that Air India has lost Rs 322.1 billion in the last three years, highlighting mismanagement, political interference, and safety negligence in the Indian aviation sector.
