Manila (HRNW)- Seven people were killed in landslides triggered by heavy rains in the southern Philippine provinces of Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental.<\/p>\n
The Philippine Red Cross said its team recovered three bodies from the rubble of a landslide that struck a village in Moncayo city, Davao del Sur province, on Thursday night.<\/p>\n
Red Cross Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon said in a social media post that authorities were continuing to monitor the area to ensure the safety of residents and rescue workers.<\/p>\n
The Philippine city’s fire station reported on social media that four members of the same family were also buried under debris in a landslide in Mati City, Davao Oriental, on Friday morning.<\/p>\n
Richard Gordon said the flooding and landslides affected residents in Surigao del Sur, Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental.<\/p>\n
