According to sources, vendors operating on streets, intersections, and crossings in Korangi Town are being forced to pay thousands of rupees daily in illegal collections without any official receipts.<\/p>\n

Sources allege that influential individuals within the Town Municipal Corporation Korangi (TMC Korangi)<\/strong> are the masterminds behind this system. Reportedly, under the alleged supervision of Rafiq Lakho and Waqar Lodhi, individuals named Ayaz, Allah Dad, Zeeshan Sheikh, and others collect daily bribes from vendors in different areas \u2014 with each cart reportedly paying around Rs. 300 per day.<\/p>\n

It was further revealed that green belts<\/strong>, originally designated for beautification, plantation, and cleanliness, have allegedly been leased out for street vending. This has not only marred the city\u2019s appearance but also strained public facilities and urban management.<\/p>\n

Sources claim that Rafiq Lakho, who allegedly holds an influential position in TMC Korangi, first facilitates illegal encroachments under the pretext of administrative oversight, then reinstates them through \u201carranged settlements,\u201d and finally mobilizes teams to collect daily extortion money.<\/p>\n

Local residents and social organizations have urged higher authorities to take immediate notice of these allegations, initiate transparent investigations into illegal encroachments and extortion practices, and hold those responsible accountable \u2014 ensuring the rule of law and relief for citizens.<\/p>\n
