Karachi (HRNW) \u2013 A case has been registered at Aram Bagh Police Station against 325 individuals, including 34 named accused, over a protest sit-in and alleged rioting outside the Sindh Assembly by Jamaat-e-Islami.<\/p>\n
According to police details, the FIR includes charges of rioting, vandalism, blocking roads, disturbing public order, violation of Section 144, and provisions under anti-terrorism laws. During the police action, 30 individuals affiliated with Jamaat-e-Islami were arrested, while several police officers and personnel were injured in the clashes.<\/p>\n
The case text states that senior Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including Sufyan Deela, Usman Sharif, Faizan, and Jawad Shoaib, along with other unnamed leaders, allegedly sponsored the protest and delivered speeches that incited participants.<\/p>\n
Police reported that 300 to 325 people were involved in the demonstration. Protesters, allegedly armed with sticks, lathis, and weapons, became agitated and attacked law enforcement officials, injuring Inspector Raja Masood, SHO Predi Ayub Mirani, SHO Inspector Shah Faisal Khan, and Constable Zohaib.<\/p>\n
Authorities said anti-riot measures were used, including megaphone announcements and tear gas shells, to disperse the crowd. Police seized five spent shells of a 30-bore pistol, five spent shells of a 9mm pistol, 15 sticks, 35 stones of various sizes, and 79 tear gas shell casings from the site. Government property, including a police mobile\u2019s windows, was also damaged. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects.<\/p>\n
