Karachi<\/span><\/span> (HRNW) \u2013 Federal Health Minister and senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan<\/span><\/span>, Mustafa Kamal<\/span><\/span>, strongly criticized the provincial government led by the Pakistan Peoples Party<\/span><\/span> while addressing a public gathering in Liaquatabad. He announced the launch of a protest movement from Liaquatabad and warned that if powers are not transferred to the grassroots level, his party would oppose the 18th Amendment.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Kamal stated that MQM had supported the 18th Amendment, but its benefits did not reach the common people. He alleged that while the provincial government received resources under the amendment, urban Sindh remained deprived. He declared that if constitutional amendments proposed by MQM are resisted, the party would also demand the abolition of the 18th Amendment.<\/p>\n

The federal minister criticized what he described as flaws in the constituency system of Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Nawabshah, and Karachi, claiming it limited representation and fragmented votes. He highlighted issues faced by Karachi\u2019s residents, including shortages of water, electricity, gas, employment, and education, saying every household has grievances while authorities remain silent.<\/p>\n

Announcing a citywide campaign, he said protest gatherings would be held in every town, culminating in a major public rally across Karachi. He added that MQM aims to raise its voice for the poor and oppressed across Sindh.<\/p>\n
