Karachi (HRNW)<\/b> \u2013 A group of Pakistani female passengers has approached the court following an alleged incident of harassment and misconduct by the crew of Sri Lankan Airlines. According to the petitioners, after completing their immigration clearance and boarding the aircraft, the airline staff threatened them and tore up their boarding passes. They further alleged that the crew accused all passengers of carrying excess baggage and extorted additional fees, forcing the petitioners to pay 16,000 PKR without providing any official receipt.<\/p>\n

The passengers stated that after their boarding passes were destroyed, they were offloaded from the plane and kept in illegal detention. Despite reporting the matter to the Airport Police Station, an FIR was not registered, leading the affected women to file a petition in the Malir Sessions Court. While a lower court had previously directed them to contact the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the petitioners argued that the decision was unsatisfactory and demanded the immediate registration of an FIR against the airline staff. In response, the court has issued notices to the SSP East and SHO Airport, summoning them for a hearing on February 20.<\/p>\n
