The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has announced that emergency repair work is currently in progress.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Water Corporation, the restoration process is estimated to take at least 96 hours. As a result of this technical failure, the city is facing a staggering daily shortage of approximately 200 million gallons of water.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension of supply has severely affected several major localities, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Korangi and Landhi<\/li>\n<li>Shah Faisal Colony<\/li>\n<li>Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Johar<\/li>\n<li>Saddar and Defense (DHA)<\/li>\n<li>Mehmoodabad and PIB Colony<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In an effort to manage the dwindling reserves, several water hydrants across the city have also been shut down.
