Kabul (HRNW)- Human Rights Watch has expressed serious concern over widespread human rights violations in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime in its World Report 2026. The report highlights that justice, fundamental rights, and freedoms have further deteriorated, exacerbating the country\u2019s humanitarian crisis. Corporal punishment, extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and torture have become common, while severe restrictions on media, attacks on civil society, journalists, and minority communities have increased significantly. Women have been effectively excluded from the state system through restrictions, violence, and suspension of basic rights, severely impacting their education, employment, and social participation. International experts warn that the Taliban\u2019s poor governance is pushing Afghan citizens into a severe economic and social crisis, destabilizing not only Afghanistan but also the broader region.
