Larkana (HRNW):<\/strong> During his visit to a community center in Goth Bhawal Jat, Larkana<\/strong>, World Bank President Ajay Banga<\/strong> interacted with local women and expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah<\/strong>, stating that he had personally wanted to come and see the work being done for the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities.<\/p>\n

Ajay Banga said that both of his parents were born in Pakistan before Partition, which is why visiting the country felt like returning home<\/strong> for him. He added that the purpose of his visit was to understand the ground realities<\/strong> and observe how people\u2019s lives are improving through rehabilitation initiatives.<\/p>\n

The World Bank President highlighted that in areas where women are being resettled, there are three key aspects<\/strong> that can be applied globally. First, women are being granted ownership rights to homes<\/strong>, which symbolize their freedom and autonomy. Second, women are gaining employment, earning income, supporting their families, and prioritizing their children\u2019s education.<\/p>\n

He remarked that it is often said that when a woman in a household is educated and empowered, she can uplift the entire family, and seeing empowered women in these communities gave him immense happiness.<\/p>\n

Ajay Banga also appreciated the concept of opening bank accounts in women\u2019s names alongside house construction<\/strong>, where funds are transferred directly to them, payments are made transparently, and laborers receive employment\u2014thereby increasing economic activity. He referred to this process as \u201cvelocity\u201d in the financial world<\/strong>, explaining that the faster the circulation of money, the greater the potential for development.<\/p>\n

The World Bank President emphasized that the project is not limited to housing construction alone but aims to improve the overall quality of life<\/strong> of the people. He congratulated the women on their achievements and described the initiative as an important step toward a brighter and more empowered future<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
