Islamabad (HRNW)- PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has said that no constitution can stop a prisoner from speaking and that the ban imposed under prison rules is also unconstitutional.<\/p>\n
While talking to the media at the Islamabad High Court, Salman Akram Raja said that he had come to file another contempt of court petition for not being allowed to meet the founder of PTI. He stated that no constitution prevents a prisoner from talking and any restriction imposed under prison rules in this regard is against constitutional principles.<\/p>\n
He said that a prisoner\u2019s physical freedom can be taken away, but his tongue and mind cannot be controlled. According to him, when someone meets a prisoner, they have the right to express themselves freely, and imposing any kind of restriction on speech is not in accordance with the constitution.<\/p>\n
Salman Akram Raja further said that efforts are being made to hide the weaknesses of the system and that the alleged rigging and \u201crobbery of the people\u2019s mandate\u201d on February 8 is being deliberately pushed into the background. He added that the message being conveyed to the public is that their destiny is limited to subjugation and that their vote and voice hold no value.<\/p>\n
He said that the people are being made to believe that the freedom of their leaders is dependent on the will of the rulers. Salman Akram Raja added that the founder of PTI is a major leader and that those in power are fearful and unsettled, adding that their real objective is to silence the founder PTI\u2019s voice.<\/p>\n
