Karachi (HRNW)- During the first month of the new year 2026, a total of 80 people, including women, children and girls, died in traffic accidents in Karachi during January, while 873 people were injured.<\/p>\n
According to the data released by Chhipa Foundation spokesperson Chaudhry Shahid, the deaths include 59 men, 9 women, 11 children and one girl. Similarly, the total number of injured is 873, including 695 men, 125 women, 39 children and 14 girls.<\/p>\n
According to the spokesperson, a total of 21 people lost their lives in traffic accidents involving heavy vehicles in Shahr-e-Quaid during January. Of these, 10 people died in a collision with a trailer, while 5 died in a collision with a water tanker, 4 in a collision with a bus and 2 in a collision between a dumper and a Mazda.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a young man riding a motorcycle was seriously injured in a traffic accident in North Karachi, who was shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he died. According to SHO Sir Syed Farrukh Hashmi, the deceased was identified as 17-year-old Ahsan Bilal, who was riding a motorcycle with his friend Zohaib.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, 35-year-old Hassan, who was a passerby, died in a traffic accident that occurred near Banaras Chowk in Orangi Town.<\/p>\n
According to statistics, the increasing traffic accidents in the city have become a serious challenge for citizens and relevant institutions, which requires effective measures to control.<\/p>\n
