Karachi (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 Two women journalists, Farwa Askari<\/strong> and Alifia Sohail<\/strong>, who were recently detained in Karachi, have been honorably released<\/strong> following swift intervention by the Human Rights Council of Pakistan, Karachi Division<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Council, led by Preet Jaman Maheshwari<\/strong>, along with Shaa\u2019a Anbi, Bhavon Maheshwari, and other members, visited the Sohail Line Police Station<\/strong> and met with the SHO and the Women Police Officer to discuss the case in detail. During the meeting, the Council emphasized that journalists are a vital pillar of the country<\/strong>, and their detention caused widespread concern.<\/p>\n

Following the Council\u2019s appeal and effective strategy, police officials responded positively, ensuring the safe release of both journalists. The journalists returned home with full respect and dignity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
