Karachi (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 The spokesperson of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has rejected the Sindh government\u2019s report on the Gul Plaza fire tragedy<\/strong>, calling it incomplete, flawed, and unacceptable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Terming the government\u2019s stance \u201cabsurd,\u201d the MQM spokesperson said it was cruel and illogical<\/strong> to hold an innocent child responsible for such a devastating incident.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson questioned whether the child accused of causing the fire was still alive or had become a victim of the Sindh government\u2019s negligence, stating that the provincial administration was using the child as a scapegoat<\/strong> to hide its incompetence and corruption<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The MQM further demanded an explanation from the Sindh government over why the fire continued for three days<\/strong> without being controlled, despite billions of rupees allocated annually for emergency response and fire safety in Karachi.<\/p>\n

The statement emphasized that the Sindh government alone bears full responsibility<\/strong> for the rising death toll, as the tragedy exposed gross professional and criminal negligence<\/strong> across multiple departments. \u201cThe Sindh government stands as the accused, complainant, investigator, and judge all at once<\/strong>,\u201d the spokesperson added.<\/p>\n

The MQM has urged the federal government<\/strong> to establish a high-level inquiry commission under Clause 3 of the Pakistan Commission of Inquiry Act<\/strong>, ensuring a transparent and impartial investigation<\/strong> into all aspects of the Gul Plaza tragedy.<\/p>\n
