Karachi (HRNW)- An important meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department was held in Karachi under the chairmanship of Senior Minister of Sindh and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon, in which a detailed review of the progress of various transport projects underway in the city, especially the Red Line and Yellow Line BRT, was taken.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, CEO Trans Karachi Fawad Ghaffar Soomro, Project Director Yellow Line BRT Zameer Abbasi and other officials of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority. The officials of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority informed the meeting about the plans to introduce more new EV buses and EV taxis in Karachi.<\/p>\n

CEO Trans Karachi Fawad Ghaffar Soomro, while giving a briefing regarding the ongoing work on the Red Line BRT project, said that the construction work on both sides of the Red Line near Nipa Chowrangi is in the process of completion. While the Yellow Line BRT Project Director Zameer Abbasi informed that the demolition of the second part of the Senator Taj Haider Bridge is underway, after which construction activities will start soon.<\/p>\n

Addressing the meeting, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that all resources are being utilized for the completion of all projects within the stipulated time. He said that the Red Line and Yellow Line BRT will play an important role in connecting the important places and business centers of Karachi, therefore, immediate resolution of issues at the field level should be ensured to avoid any kind of delay.<\/p>\n

Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the development of any city is not possible without modern urban transport, and the completion of BRT projects will significantly improve Karachi\u2019s transport system. He also issued instructions to start the second phase of Pink Scooties soon and to organize Pink Scooties distribution programs in Karachi as well as other cities.<\/p>\n
