Maintaining the tradition of the first session, this intellectual program gave central importance to important topics such as knowledge, wisdom gained from life, insight and leadership.

Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi was the chief guest of the event. In his address, he said that education creates positive changes in the personality of a person and plays a fundamental role in improving it. He said that punctuality is very important to move forward in life, real success lies in inner satisfaction and self-satisfaction. He clarified that taking easy paths does not yield lasting results and these paths ultimately bring a person back to where he started.

Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi said that no task is impossible, continuous hard work makes the impossible possible. The dynamic economy makes every sector of society active, so the education system should be such that it promotes innovation, creative thinking and entrepreneurial skills and prepares students according to the requirements of practical life.

Dr. Khalid Iraqi further said that a true leader is one who has the ability to motivate others, can fulfill responsibilities in an efficient manner and prioritizes collective interest over personal interest. He said that although leadership involves natural ability, experience and continuous learning further enhance it. He emphasized that whatever role or responsibility is adopted, it should be accepted wholeheartedly.

In response to a question, he mentioned an important turning point in his life and said that when he was told that “you cannot do this”, that moment became a source of encouragement and motivation for him to move forward.

Talking about the role of parents, the Vice Chancellor said that the role of parents is fundamental in the education and training of children, but unfortunately today this role is becoming weaker than before. Regarding social media, he said that instead of connecting, we are becoming more disconnected. Parents should train their children in the responsible and positive use of social media, because simply banning it is not the solution to this problem.

While discussing the student representative system, he pointed out that in some cases this system has increased problems, as some teachers transfer their responsibilities to student representatives, which needs to be reformed. He emphasized that students should not be treated as mere numbers or files, but as their own children.

At the end of his speech, Professor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi expressed his desire that educational institutions should produce individuals who are not only professionally but also morally and humanely better.

Professor Dr. Syed Shabib Al-Hassan, Department of Public Administration, University of Karachi, said in his presidential address that Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi is a rare and valuable person. He said that leadership is not just about giving orders, but also about controlling oneself, exercising patience and avoiding immediate reactions. According to him, calmness, tolerance and showing patience even in the face of disagreement are the values that he learned from Dr. Iraqi, and these qualities make him an excellent leader and mentor.

Former Dean of the Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences, University of Karachi, Professor Dr. Abu Zar Wajdi, while expressing his views, said that he has seen Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi in different capacities, as a student, chairman and dean. According to him, he emerged as an extraordinary personality in each role. His personality is a beautiful combination of leadership, commitment and confidence.

The participants of the event, describing the program as purposeful, intellectual and inspiring, expressed their desire that sessions like “Ham Makht” should be continued so that local intellectual and moral capital can be preserved and passed on to future generations.

According to the organizers of Wisdom Therapy Center, Dr. Quratul Ain, Dr. Maryam, Yousuf Munir, and Hafiz Muhammad Abdul Samad Khan, platforms like “Hum Mushtaq” play an important role in promoting serious dialogue, intellectual guidance, and positive values, and such sessions will continue to be held in the future as well.

Support the initiative and contribute to fostering education, knowledge, and intellectual growth:
Donate Now

<g transform="translate(0,332) scale(0.1,-0.1)" fill="" stroke="none"></g>

Karachi (HRNW)- The second installment of “Hum Mushtaq” was organized yesterday under the auspices of the Wisdom Therapy Center established in the Department of Public Administration, University of Karachi.
