Karachi (HRNW)-<\/strong> Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi Division Senior Vice President Faheem Khan held an important meeting with PTI central leader and former National Assembly speaker, MNA Asad Qaiser, upon his arrival in Karachi.<\/p>\n

The meeting featured an in-depth discussion on the country\u2019s prevailing political situation and the three-day Sindh visit being undertaken under the banner of the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution).<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, Faheem Khan said the nation is passing through one of the most difficult periods in its history. He alleged that the public mandate was first systematically stolen, followed by the imposition of \u201cForm-47-based fake governments,\u201d and later the deliberate crippling of the judiciary and the Constitution. He said constitutional amendments 26 and 27 had rendered the judicial system ineffective, resulting in the erosion of constitutional supremacy and the rule of law in the country.<\/p>\n

Faheem Khan said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, under the leadership of its patron-in-chief Imran Khan, was waging an organised and peaceful struggle for the supremacy of the Constitution and true freedom, with the overwhelming majority of the people standing firmly alongside the party. He maintained that the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan enjoyed a clear public mandate given by Imran Khan.
\nWelcoming the delegation on its three-day visit to Sindh, Faheem Khan said the leadership of the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan had arrived in the province as part of this programme, which also includes Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai. He said the first day of the visit would feature various political engagements in Karachi, followed by participation in the birth anniversary ceremony of Syed G.M. Syed in Jamshoro, and an important all-parties conference at the Karachi Press Club.<\/p>\n

Criticising the Sindh government, Faheem Khan said a de facto authoritarian rule prevailed in the province and that the Pakistan Peoples Party-led government, under Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, was displaying fascist tendencies. He alleged that peaceful political activities of the Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Ain Pakistan were being obstructed, with roads blocked and hurdles erected at various places. He added that when the leadership set out from Karachi to Hyderabad to attend Syed G.M. Syed\u2019s birthday ceremony, they were stopped at several locations by police and other state barriers.<\/p>\n

He said the situation reflected the growing nervousness of the Sindh government, adding that such coercive and authoritarian tactics could neither suppress any public movement nor silence the voice of the Constitution and democracy.<\/p>\n
