Karachi (HRNW)- The University of Karachi in collaboration with the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad has commenced a National Outreach Program for University Management at the Sardar Yaseen Malik Professional Development Center on Monday.<\/p>\n
The opening ceremony was graced by the KU\u2019s Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi. The chief guest of the opening ceremony was the Regional Incharge of the HEC-Islamabad Sulaiman Ahmad.<\/p>\n
Dr Syed Asim Ali, the focal person for the five-day training program, welcomed the guest and participants and expressed gratitude to NAHE, HEC for providing the training opportunity to the University of Karachi.<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, the KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi emphasized the importance of continuous professional development for university administrators and highlighted the University of Karachi\u2019s commitment to strengthening governance, leadership, and management capacities in higher education institutions.<\/p>\n
He appreciated HEC and NAHE for initiating programs that bring quality training opportunities directly to universities. He mentioned the federal HEC would launch a similar program to other public sector universities, and the KU is the first university to arrange such sessions throughout the country.<\/p>\n
Sulaiman Ahmad underscored the federal HEC\u2019s vision of strengthening administrative efficiency and leadership capabilities across public sector universities through structured, outcome-oriented training programmes.<\/p>\n
He highlighted that over the past year, the HEC has trained more than 2,000 faculty members from 69 universities and 1,397 staff members from 50 public sector universities nationwide. While speaking on the future of jobs, he also emphasised the growing importance of artificial intelligence in the workplace.<\/p>\n
He informed the participants that analytical thinking remains the most in-demand core skill, followed by resilience, flexibility, and agility, alongside leadership and social influence. He further acknowledged the University of Karachi for its effective role in hosting capacity-building initiatives.<\/p>\n
The training program is being conducted under the guidance and monitoring of NAHE and aims to enhance the managerial, administrative, and professional competencies university management staff, including Assistant Registrars, Deputy Controllers of Examinations, and other key administrative staff members.<\/p>\n
The program will continue for five days, featuring expert-led sessions focused on communication skills, leadership, effective management, communication skills, and institutional excellence in higher education.<\/p>\n
