WASHINGTON, DC (HRNW)<\/b> \u2013 In a historic shift toward isolationism, President Donald Trump has officially announced the United States’ withdrawal from 66 international organizations, including 31 United Nations entities and 35 non-UN bodies. The White House stated on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, that these organizations operate “contrary to U.S. national interests” and will see all American financial support terminated immediately.<\/p>\n

According to a presidential memorandum, the Trump administration conducted a 180-day review of all global engagements and determined that dozens of agencies promote “globalist agendas” and “radical climate policies” that infringe upon American sovereignty. Among the notable exits are the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and the UN Population Fund. President Trump argued that it is no longer acceptable to spend “taxpayer treasure” on institutions that he claims work against American security and economic prosperity.<\/p>\n

While the administration will maintain its seat in the UN Security Council and continue supporting the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the massive rollback includes several trade, gender rights, and environmental groups.
