Karachi (HRNW)- The Syndicate elections at the University of Karachi were held for four seats on the Syndicate from the constituencies of professors, associate professors, assistant professors, and lecturers, as well as one seat for officers, at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium on Thursday.<\/p>\n
According to the KU\u2019s Registrar and Returning Officer Professor Dr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui the successful candidates are Professor Dr Muhammad Haris Shoaib, Dr Mohsin Ali, Syed Ghufran Alam, and Shumaila Samad Khan.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that for the professor\u2019s seat, Dr Muhammad Haris Shoaib was elected with 60 votes, Professor Dr Anila Amber Malik got 31 votes, and Professor Dr Muhammad Ali received 13 votes.<\/p>\n
For the associate professor\u2019s Seat, Dr Mohsin Ali secured victory with 67 votes, while Dr Muhammad Ayaz received 22 votes. For the assistant professor\u2019s seat, Syed Ghufran Alam won with 135 votes, Dr Nida Ali received 78 votes, and Dr Syed Shah Hasan had four votes.<\/p>\n
On the lecturer\u2019s seat, Shumaila Samad Khan was elected with 32 votes, Dr Kashif Riaz got 16 votes, and Syed Naseer Akhtar received 12 votes.<\/p>\n
Dr Muhammad Hassan Auj was elected with 54 votes, Muhammad Rashid Ali Qureshi collected 14 votes, and Arman Ahmed had four votes, for one officer\u2019s seat in the Syndicate. They will hold for three years from the date of the first meeting of the syndicate.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi has warmly congratulated and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected members of the Syndicate.<\/p>\n
