Islamabad\/Rawalpindi \u2013 Pakistan (HRNW)- <\/strong>A special court in Pakistan has sentenced former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan<\/strong> and his wife Bushra Bibi<\/strong> to 17 years imprisonment each<\/strong> in the Toshakhana-2 case<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The verdict was delivered by Special Judge (Central) Shahrukh Arjumand<\/strong> during proceedings held at Adiala Jail<\/strong>. The court found both accused guilty of corruption and criminal breach of trust<\/strong>, ruling that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.<\/p>\n

Under Section 409 of the Pakistan Penal Code (Criminal Breach of Trust)<\/strong>, each was awarded 10 years of imprisonment<\/strong>, and under Section 5(2)\/47 of the Anti-Corruption Act<\/strong>, an additional 7 years<\/strong>. The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 16.45 million each<\/strong>, with the warning that failure to pay could lead to extended imprisonment.<\/p>\n
