Islaambad (HRNW)- The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)<\/strong> has issued a clarification on the erroneous text messages sent to taxpayers by various telecom companies, saying that these messages were not sent on the instructions of the FBR but were sent in error due to a technical glitch of the telecom service providers.<\/p>\n

According to the FBR, SMS’s<\/strong> are sent to taxpayers every September by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)<\/strong> to remind them to submit their income tax returns. In this regard, this year too, on September 15, 2025,<\/strong> the PTA<\/strong> was directed to send a message to taxpayers to submit their returns before the deadline of September 30, which was sent before the scheduled time.<\/p>\n

However, on December 8,<\/strong> several taxpayers filed complaints that they had again received such messages in which the deadline for submitting returns for the tax year 2025<\/strong> was stated as September 30<\/strong>, which has already passed.<\/p>\n

After investigation, it was found that no instructions were given by the FBR<\/strong> at that time. The PTA<\/strong> has also confirmed that these messages were issued due to a technical glitch of the telecom companies.<\/p>\n

The FBR<\/strong> has started further investigation into the matter and the PTA<\/strong> has been asked to contact the concerned telecom companies and cooperate in resolving the issue.<\/p>\n

The statement said that the FBR<\/strong> is always available to guide the taxpayers and is committed to providing accurate and clear information.<\/p>\n
