Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0The National Highways and Motorway Police have suspended traffic on several major routes amid security preparations for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march, with the closures to remain in effect until further notice.<\/p>\n
According to sources, the M-1 Motorway has been closed in both directions from the Islamabad Toll Plaza to Chhachh Interchange. The Islamabad Toll Plaza, Fateh Jang\/Tarnol, Sangjani\/AWT, Brahma Bahatar, Burhan, Hazara Motorway, Ghazi, and Chhachh interchanges have also been closed.<\/p>\n
Similarly, the M-14 Motorway has been shut to all traffic in both directions from Hakla to Kundal. The Hakla, Fateh Jang, Pindi Gheb, Kharpa, Tarap, Daud Khel, Kot Belian, Isa Khel, and Kundal interchanges will also remain closed until further notice.<\/p>\n
The GT Road (N-5) has also been closed in both directions at Attock Khurd, according to sources.<\/p>\n
Motorway Police had announced a day earlier that the M-1, M-14, and the other affected routes would be closed from Wednesday night as part of security arrangements related to the planned PTI long march.<\/p>\n
Authorities have advised motorists and travelers to remain informed about the latest traffic restrictions and use alternative routes where available. The closures are expected to remain in place until the security situation is reassessed.<\/p>\n
