Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0Senate Opposition Leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas has condemned the arrest of Aleema Khan, describing it as an indication of what he called the government\u2019s concern over the upcoming PTI mobilization.<\/p>\n
Noreen Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, held a telephone conversation with Raja Nasir Abbas following Aleema Khan\u2019s arrest. During the call, Abbas said the resolve shown by the sisters would encourage party workers and supporters.<\/p>\n
The Senate opposition leader alleged that the arrest was unconstitutional and unlawful, arguing that Aleema Khan was not leading a protest and had reportedly gone out for personal matters. He said detaining a woman under such circumstances reflected what he described as government anxiety over the planned political activities.<\/p>\n
Abbas maintained that the arrest would not prevent the PTI\u2019s proposed mobilization and said such actions could increase participation. He reiterated his support for the Constitution and said the political struggle would continue despite arrests and other difficulties.<\/p>\n
He also criticized the Punjab government\u2019s handling of the matter and called for Aleema Khan\u2019s immediate release. Abbas described the arrest as unacceptable and said attempts to discourage supporters would not end the political campaign.<\/p>\n
Noreen Niazi, meanwhile, said the family\u2019s efforts were aimed at supporting the Pakistani people and their brother, Imran Khan. She said arrests would not weaken their resolve and pledged to continue their efforts.<\/p>\n
The statements come as PTI supporters prepare for planned political activity in Islamabad, while opposition leaders and the government remain divided over the legality and handling of protests and mobilization.<\/p>\n
