Karachi (HRNW)-\u00a0Sindh government spokesperson Sadia Javed has responded to Federal Minister Mustafa Kamal\u2019s recent remarks on the creation of new provinces, defending Sindh\u2019s territorial and administrative structure and criticizing calls for further division of the province.<\/p>\n
Sadia Javed said the Pakistan Peoples Party\u2019s core philosophy is \u201cPakistan Khappay\u201d (Long Live Pakistan) and argued that those advocating the creation of new administrative units in Sindh should not portray themselves as advocates of national unity.<\/p>\n
She accused political opponents of using the issue for political purposes and said attempts to weaken provincial autonomy were contrary to the principles of the 18th Amendment, which she described as having strengthened the federation and transferred greater powers to the provinces.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson also criticized the past record of the MQM, alleging that its politics had contributed to ethnic tensions and conflict between Sindhis and Muhajirs. She questioned criticism of Sindh\u2019s law-and-order and healthcare situation, arguing that opponents should also account for their own records in government.<\/p>\n
Sadia Javed said Sindh\u2019s political and social identity was rooted in the traditions of its Sufi heritage and maintained that efforts to create divisions between communities would not be allowed to undermine provincial harmony.<\/p>\n
She further accused opposition leaders of using public issues and media appearances to gain political attention, alleging that attempts to create tensions between the federation and Sindh were aimed at securing political interests.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson said the Sindh government represented ordinary citizens, including farmers, laborers, and other disadvantaged sections of society, and described it as a government based on democratic principles.<\/p>\n
Sadia Javed concluded that citizens of Karachi and Sindh were increasingly aware of political developments and would not be easily influenced by what she described as emotional slogans or unsubstantiated claims.<\/p>\n
