Islamabad (HRNW)-\u00a0Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has called for coordinated efforts by government institutions, civil society, media organizations and other stakeholders to improve nutrition among children.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the Act for Nutrition Conference in Islamabad, Tarar said nutrition awareness campaigns should not be limited to one-time activities. He called for an annual action plan and year-round campaigns to ensure accurate information reaches families.<\/p>\n
The minister stressed the need to protect parents from misinformation, harmful home remedies and misleading commercial claims. He said parents should also be aware of when professional medical care is necessary for children.<\/p>\n
Tarar emphasized that nutrition is not only a health issue and that accurate information must reach people at the right time, including communities without regular internet access. He called for community-based communication to counter myths and misinformation.<\/p>\n
He said pregnant women need nutritious food, adequate rest and medical support, while families must share responsibility for meeting the nutritional needs of mothers and children. He also emphasized the importance of evidence-based approaches and greater involvement of fathers in supporting mothers and children.<\/p>\n
The federal minister urged experts, professionals and digital content creators to work together to build an effective environment against misinformation. He said the success of awareness campaigns should be measured not only by how widely information is delivered but also by positive changes in public attitudes and practices.<\/p>\n
