Karachi (HRNW):<\/strong> Speaking to the media after the hearing of the judicial commission investigating the Mir Raza case, lawyer Jibran Nasir<\/strong> condemned the FIR registered by Ferozabad Police against young people who had been protesting to demand justice for Mir Raza.<\/p>\n

Nasir said that for the past 29 days, young citizens have been standing for hours demanding justice for Mir Raza and the supremacy of law<\/strong>, but these same young people have now allegedly been targeted through criminal cases.<\/p>\n

He said these young protesters have become like Mir Raza himself for his grieving parents and expressed solidarity with them.<\/p>\n

Nasir also paid tribute to the young lawyers providing legal assistance and securing bail for the protesters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He said the protests demanding justice for Mir Raza would continue.<\/p>\n

No Arrests After 30 Days<\/h3>\n

Jibran Nasir said that 30 days have passed, yet the alleged perpetrators in the Mir Raza case have not been apprehended<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He said the focus should remain on identifying and arresting those responsible for Mir Raza\u2019s death and bringing the case to its legal conclusion.<\/p>\n

Judicial Commission Proceedings Open to Public<\/h3>\n

Nasir said Justice Umar Sial<\/strong> had clarified that proceedings of the judicial commission would remain open to the public<\/strong> to ensure transparency.<\/p>\n

He said the commission had also clarified that its role was not to conduct the criminal investigation but to undertake fact-finding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to Nasir, the commission made it clear that arresting the alleged killers and submitting the charge sheet is the responsibility of the police<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
