Lahore (HRNW)<\/a><\/strong>– Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken a historic step to eradicate forced child labor in the province by establishing a 15-member steering committee. The official notification for the committee has been issued.<\/p>\n

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has been appointed as the chairperson, while former MNA Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha will serve as co-chairman. The committee includes provincial ministers of School Education, Investment and Commerce, Industry and Trade, Social Welfare and Baitul Mal, and Skills and Small Business Development, along with secretaries of various departments, Chairman PITB, and DIG Police.<\/p>\n

The committee\u2019s responsibilities include mapping all sectors across the province, identifying industries and workshops where children are employed, creating a central data bank linked to AI and GIS, and developing alternative solutions and support methods for affected children. It will also plan awareness campaigns for parents, teachers, and society, and evaluate institutional performance on this issue.<\/p>\n
