Karachi (HRNW) \u2014:<\/strong> The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC)<\/strong> has announced the withdrawal of restrictions imposed on the use of official vehicles and fuel, with normal operations set to resume from September 1, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the notification, KMC has reversed its earlier decision to ground 60 percent of its official vehicles<\/strong> as part of fuel-saving and austerity measures.<\/p>\n

Restrictions previously imposed on the use of vehicles by Grade-17 officers<\/strong> have also been withdrawn.<\/p>\n

A formal notification has been issued and signed by KMC Financial Adviser Gulzar Ali<\/strong>, directing the relevant departments regarding the restoration of normal vehicle use.<\/p>\n

The restrictions were introduced in March 2026<\/strong> amid a fuel crisis and financial constraints. Under the austerity measures, around 60 percent of KMC vehicles were grounded to reduce fuel consumption and expenditure.<\/p>\n

With the restrictions now withdrawn, KMC’s official vehicles will return to normal operational use from September 1.<\/p>\n
