Karachi (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 The Sindh High Court has disposed of a petition seeking physical remand<\/strong> of former DMC South chairman Malik Fayyaz<\/strong>, who was arrested in connection with the firing incident at the office of MNA Qadir Patel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The petition stated that the trial court had sent the accused to judicial custody<\/strong>, arguing that keeping him in jail could affect the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

The investigating officer requested that Malik Fayyaz be handed over to police custody so that the investigation could proceed further.<\/p>\n

During the hearing, the Prosecutor General Sindh<\/strong> did not press for further proceedings on the application.<\/p>\n

The court declared the petition infructuous and disposed of it<\/strong>, directing the investigating officer to interrogate the accused in jail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The court further directed the parties to raise the matter before the trial court<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Former DMC South chairman Malik Fayyaz was arrested on August 13<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The FIR concerning the firing at Qadir Patel\u2019s office was registered at Boat Basin Police Station<\/strong> on the complaint of a man identified as Shoaib Khan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
