Islamabad (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute to the victims of terrorism and expressed solidarity with individuals and families who have suffered from acts of terrorism, as Pakistan observed the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism on August 21, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In his message, the Prime Minister said terrorism remains one of the most serious challenges confronting humanity, stressing that innocent people and their families continue to bear the devastating consequences of terrorist violence.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan is among the countries that have suffered immensely from terrorism. He paid tribute to the armed forces, law enforcement personnel and civilians who have sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n

He said Pakistan\u2019s sacrifices extend beyond the loss of precious lives, as terrorism has also imposed a heavy economic and social cost on the country, adversely affecting the well-being of citizens and hindering development, progress and prosperity.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan\u2019s unwavering national resolve to continue the fight against terrorism until the menace is completely eradicated. He emphasized that no nation, civilization, religion or faith advocates terrorism, describing terrorist acts as manifestations of inhuman ideologies.<\/p>\n

He called for stronger international cooperation and collective efforts to eliminate terrorism, stressing that its complete eradication requires the unconditional condemnation of terrorism and effective cooperation among nations.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the importance of the physical, psychological and social rehabilitation of terrorism victims. He said the Government of Pakistan remains committed to the welfare of martyrs, their families and victims of terrorism despite limited resources.<\/p>\n

He added that Pakistan has a comprehensive support system for martyrs, their families and victims, while ensuring timely access to healthcare, rehabilitation and essential civic services remains a key government priority.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the Prime Minister called upon institutions and individuals at the global and national levels to raise their voices against terrorism, subversion and all negative tendencies while upholding universal human values and the rule of international law.<\/p>\n
