Islamabad (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned WhatsApp users to remain cautious about mobile numbers that are cancelled or deactivated and later reassigned to other subscribers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the PTA, mobile numbers that are cancelled or remain inactive for an extended period may eventually be reissued to another user. If a WhatsApp account was previously linked to such a number, the reassignment could create privacy and account-security concerns for the former user.<\/p>\n

The PTA has advised users to pay particular attention to WhatsApp accounts and other important online services linked to their mobile numbers. Users should promptly remove or update deactivated or changed numbers from their digital accounts.<\/p>\n

The reassignment of mobile numbers also raises concerns regarding digital privacy and the protection of personal information<\/strong>.
