According to the Foreign Office, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong met Ishaq Dar at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the Deputy Prime Minister expressed deep sorrow over the death of a Chinese mountaineer in an avalanche incident on Broad Peak in Gilgit-Baltistan.<\/p>\n
Ishaq Dar assured the Chinese ambassador that Pakistan would provide all possible assistance in repatriating the deceased mountaineer\u2019s body. Jiang Zedong appreciated the immediate assistance and cooperation provided by Pakistani authorities following the incident.<\/p>\n
The two sides also discussed matters of mutual interest and recent developments in the region. The Chinese ambassador congratulated the Pakistani people and leadership on Independence Day and reaffirmed the close and longstanding relations between Pakistan and China.<\/p>\n
