Islamabad (HRNW)<\/strong> \u2014 The President of Pakistan has approved the appointment of 10 new Additional Judges<\/strong> of the Lahore High Court for a period of one year.<\/p>\n

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice<\/strong> on August 11, 2026<\/strong>, the appointments have been made under Article 197 read with Article 175A(8) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The newly appointed Additional Judges of the Lahore High Court are:<\/p>\n

  1. Mr. Ghulam Sarwar Nihung<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  2. Mr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan Zahid<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  3. Mr. Amir Ajam Malik<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  4. Ms. Shireen Imran<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  5. Mr. Asad Ali Bajwa<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  6. Mr. Muhammad Amjad Pervaiz<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  7. Mr. Khalid Ibn-i-Aziz<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  8. Mr. Munawar Iqbal Duggal<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  9. Syed Farhad Ali Shah<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n
  10. Mr. Muhammad Usman Ghani Rashid Cheema<\/strong> \u2014 Advocate Supreme Court<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The notification states that the appointments will take effect from the date the newly appointed judges take oath of their offices<\/strong> and will remain valid for one year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Copies of the notification have been forwarded to the Judicial Commission of Pakistan, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Federal Constitutional Court of Pakistan, Lahore High Court, Attorney General\u2019s Office and the Government of Punjab<\/strong>, among other relevant authorities.<\/p>\n

    The appointment of the 10 Additional Judges is expected to strengthen the judicial capacity of the Lahore High Court and assist in dealing with the court\u2019s workload and pending cases.<\/p>\n
